Restoring Glory to Marriage

True marriage was lost in Eden. Adam declared this is bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh. The narrative of man and woman being one has been lost in the world. I have had people who are Christians commending books like men are from Mars and women are from Venus, as well as books about individual love languages. The bible tells us that men and women are from YAHWEH and there is only one love language, expressions of righteousness, peace, and joy.

People still walk around hiding themselves with the fig leaves of consensus (hiding in a crowd), blaming others (it is not my fault), and secrecy (avoiding the light).  There is no room for any fig leaves in marriages because it requires intimacy (into-me-see). At the root of all dysfunction is broken intimacy with GOD. Broken intimacy with GOD impacts family, the community, and the world. Repairing these relationships begins with restoring intimacy with GOD. This is why salvation for the world comes through the gospel of reconciliation to GOD. The first and greatest commandment is to love GOD with all your heart, soul, and strength. Christ also teaches that we are to seek submission to the rule of GOD first, and then all other things will be established.

Through Christ, the glory of true marriage can be restored. YAHWEH tells the bride of Christ to return to her first love in the book of Revelations. Glorious and righteous marriage begins with true intimacy with GOD. If there is to be a feast of love, we must first have fruit to share, and Christ says unless we have intimacy with Him we can bear no fruit. That means making sure our heart is abiding in Him (the word of love) and opening our heart so that He (the word of love) is free to abide in us. When we commune with Christ, He fills us with the bread of life and the living water of the spirit. We need this nourishment for strength to do the work of breaking up the fallow ground of our hearts for reproduction of the fruit of the Spirit. When you read the book of Genesis, you find that GOD planted a garden in Eden and caused all good things to grow so that man could thrive. He is ready to establish a new garden in our hearts that we might again thrive through the fruit of Spirit, which are the fruit of love.

19 Now the practices of the sinful nature are clearly evident: they are sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality (total irresponsibility, lack of self-control), 20 idolatry, sorcery, hostility, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions [that promote heresies], 21 envy, drunkenness, riotous behavior, and other things like these. I warn you beforehand, just as I did previously, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit [the result of His presence within us] is love [unselfish concern for others], joy, [inner] peace, patience [not the ability to wait, but how we act while waiting], kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature together with its passions and appetites. 25 If we [claim to] live by the [Holy] Spirit, we must also walk by the Spirit [with personal integrity, godly character, and moral courage—our conduct empowered by the Holy Spirit]. (Galatians 5:19-25 Amp)
