Passing Winter’s Test

There is nothing like a good fire to help you pass winter’s test. Winter tests our faith with its bitter cold and overcast skies. The lifeless terrain of dormant plants, even on sunny days, create a boring canvas of brown in many shades. Cloudy days can cast everything monochrome, just grays and blacks. There are times when we are challenged to release the beauty from within. We must reflect on the blessings of yesterday and allow the gratefulness of beauty past to warm our hearts and shine forth the promise of springs and summers to come. Recalling the faithfulness of GOD can sober our minds to the realization that more vibrant days only nap to return with renewed strength.

Like wood gathered and aged to be burned are the many blessings of joyful seasons passed. Whenever the bitter cold and drabness of a winter tries to freeze your heart, ignite a fire of stored testimonies, and be warmed by the past blessings of a faithful GOD. Like the fervent heat and brilliant light generated by pieces of trees set ablaze after having weathered many years, let the fire of the spirit ignite the memories of compiled blessings from years past stored in your heart, and be renewed in your hope of the beautiful blooms of tomorrow.
