”But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.” (Matthew 15:9 KJV)
In Christendom, there are many commandments of men which have supporting false doctrines that attempt to validate them. I have often denounced these doctrines of men in the books and articles I have written, and during encounters with other Christians. There have been times when I received similar responses as Christ did with men being offended at the truth. There are also the occasions when no resistance to the truth is expressed but then I hear the same false doctrine being expressed again by those I expounded the truth to. I have been told that it is not my job to correct men who spread false doctrine. Of course, this advice comes from those who have been offended by the truth. Christ says a candle is not lit to have its light hidden. I know that the enemy uses darkness to hide his malicious lies and he hates the light of truth. I am compelled by the life of Christ in me to destroy the works of the devil, so I write and preach the truth in love.
There is a growing false doctrine in Christendom that says the servant of Christ should let the sinner dictate how the gospel is presented. What this looks like in ministry is conforming the message to the consensus of people versus standing with GOD in rejection. This false doctrine seeks to validate the commandment of men that says the servants of Christ should always address people in a loving way to be more receptive. This is a lie that denies the reality that the majority of people simply hate the truth. Why? The truth often reveals that people need to change and change temporarily disrupts comfort. Christ said they hated Him for the witness of the truth and the servant is not greater than His master, so those sharing the true gospel of Christ should expect more often to be rejected than accepted. Another problem with this doctrine is that the “love” men are referring to is not the “Love” of GOD but the unregenerate love of the world. A love that feeds the lust of the flesh towards pacification rather than mortifying the flesh unto the death of the cross for new life in the Spirit.
The mission of Christ is not to win popularity with sinners but to save them by transforming them to righteous people who hate sin. This happens not by alluring them according to the orientation of the flesh but by GOD drawing them by the power of His Spirit. All false doctrines of Christ are meant to defame GOD and keep people captive to death.
“You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.” (John 8:44 NKJV)
“And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.” (John 17:3 KJV)
False doctrines of Christ are subordinated by lifting up a false Christ, derived from the imaginations of men rooted in pride and a love for this present world. The light of truth exposes the wickedness of this present world which helps to free people from its chains of darkness. The chains of darkness consist of lies regarding the nature and purposes of the governments that rule. Nations like the United States and Britain are often heralded as modernizing saviors of underdeveloped countries seeking to spread liberation and freedom. This false narrative is embraced by gullible people looking to redeem the violent and oppressive actions of their countries which they have been conditioned to take pride in. Christ the Savior came to give true life and true treasures, so His message can only be embraced by those willing to surrender their current lives and current treasures. Those who are not ready to let go push back and are susceptible to lies that allow them to hold onto the comforts of the familiar. Those who detach are able to enter the life and liberty of the Spirit but those who hold on will receive the judgment and condemnation that will befall this present world.
“1After these things I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was illuminated with his glory. 2 And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying, “Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird! 3 For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury.” 4 And I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.” (Revelation 18:1-4 NKJV)
