I was riding down the road the other day and I saw a billboard that read, “After you die, you go to meet GOD,” then it was followed by a 1-800 number. My guess is that it was an evangelistic effort to encourage people to live differently today. While the intent is good, it falls extremely short of the good news of the gospel of Christ. The good news is that we don’t have to wait until we transition from earth to meet GOD, He welcomes a meeting today. Another big truth that the message failed to relay is that you don’t even begin to live until you meet GOD. Christ came that we might have Life through uniting us back to GOD. The resurrection power of the Spirit of GOD begins to impart Life to you the moment you surrender your being to Him through the cross of Christ. We were not made to just exist; we were brought forth from GOD to thrive according to the purpose of His good pleasure.

“12 Wherefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” Philippians 2:12-13
“11 Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power: 12 That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.” 2 Thessalonians 1:11-12
