Will the Bridegroom Find True Love

I don’t know if anyone who has spent time viewing the wonders and beauty of creation would doubt that the Creator expresses His love romantically. You can see this from fireflies to star lit skies, from colors in butterfly wings to the song the mocking jay sings, to mountain peaks across the horizon so tall to the cascading depths of a mighty waterfall. These are all beautiful creations from the most beautiful heart. All aimed at winning your heart that you might become His bride, the Church. The question is, will she reward His love with faithfulness? YESHUA taught a parable to address the fading faith of His followers due to the oppressive political regimes of their day.

“…shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?” (Luke 18:7-8 NKJV)

When Christ returns, will He find many still anchored in the hope of His promises, a remnant who has not turned aside to trust in money and power. The love of many people have grown cold through the evil influences of this world. People bring their hard hearts into the church and there they often find a gospel compromised with the love of the world. The result is that now instead of them sharing cold love, as Christians, they now offer lukewarm love. Somehow, the teaching that taking up the cross means surrendering everything to Christ has been lost. Christians have been given passes to hold on to things church leaders don’t find offensive, instead of leaders passing on the high standards of GOD. You see this in Christian organizations supporting laws to protect unborn people, yet they fail to support laws which protect born people with the same conviction. The latter behavior nullifies the first. In the eyes of the Lord, all life is precious, and innocent blood pertains to all who die unjustly. Many Christians today find themselves standing on the wrong side of so many social issues because their hearts are estranged from GOD. Their affections are entangled in the treasures of this world instead of the true riches of the Kingdom of Christ.

Christ gave an example of what love looks like. He taught that if anyone aspires to be great, let them serve others with great love. Christ, being the greatest, exercised His strength through love, even unto becoming the sacrificial Lamb of GOD to save the world. When I hear the phrase, “Make America great again,” with my Christian sensibilities, I have to look through history to see when America was a great servant to the interest of her neighbors. I look at how she showed her greatness to the indigenous people of North America. I look at how she showed her greatness to those she abducted from Africa. I look at how she showed her greatness to Mexicans, Cubans, Filipinos, and Hattians. It really depends on how you view American history. Do you view it from the perspective of America, who self-proclaims she is the greatest nation on earth, or do you view it from the perspective of the nations she has served with her military prowess? Look at what the Lord says to the evil King of Judah who turned away from ruling righteously like his fathers to ruling like a capitalist tyrant.

13 “Woe to him who builds his house by unrighteousness
And his chambers by injustice,
Who uses his neighbor’s service without wages
And gives him nothing for his work,
14 Who says, ‘I will build myself a wide house with spacious chambers,
And cut out windows for it,
Paneling it with cedar
And painting it with vermilion.’

15 “Shall you reign because you enclose yourself in cedar?
Did not your father eat and drink,
And do justice and righteousness?
Then it was well with him.
16 He judged the cause of the poor and needy;
Then it was well.
Was not this knowing Me?” says the Lord.
17 “Yet your eyes and your heart are for nothing but your covetousness,
For shedding innocent blood,
And practicing oppression and violence.”
(Jeremiah 22:13-17 NKJV)

These leaders had lost sight of righteousness because their eyes and their hearts had been blinded by covetousness. When Christ comes for His bride, will He find you watching for Him with your eyes fixed on Heaven, or will He find you blinded by the affections of another love. Wake up Christians! Your King draws near, and His judgment goes before Him, starting in His own house.

Thus says the Lord: “Execute judgment and righteousness, and deliver the plundered out of the hand of the oppressor. Do no wrong and do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, or the widow, nor shed innocent blood in this place. For if you indeed do this thing, then shall enter the gates of this house, riding on horses and in chariots, accompanied by servants and people, kings who sit on the throne of David. But if you will not hear these words, I swear by Myself,” says the Lord, “that this house shall become a desolation.” (Jeremiah 22:3-5 NKJV)
