Escaping the Eternal Fall

I have two large nut trees around my house, and they dump what seems like tons of leaves on my property in the fall. Raking them up seems futile at times because I can spend a couple of hours clearing my yard only to find two days later that the leaves have covered everything again. So, I find myself at times during this battle with the leaves looking up at the trees to see how many more are going to fall. I never concede the fight because I know the time and season and eventually there will be no more falling leaves. However, if I accepted the belief that these leaves would continue to fall eternally, my approach to dealing with them would change. Instead of zealously working to get rid of them, I would resolve to merely managing them when the leaves became inconvenient or disruptive.

I thank the Lord for the gift of the helper, also known as the Holy Spirit, which has come to lead and guide us into all truth that we might be made free from sin and darkness. Also, that we might know the things freely given to us by YAHWEY. The apostle John wrote that Christ came to destroy the works of Satan which works are sin, lies, and rebellion. When YEHOSHUA gave us new life through spiritual rebirth by accepting the death of the cross, he destroyed the wicked tree that littered our lives with sin. We can with confidence, by the light of truth and the power of the spirit, clear away sin that remains, knowing that the source has been removed.

Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.” (1 John 3:7-9)

This is a truth that Satan wars against constantly through unbelieving ministers, in so much that some confessing to be born again followers of Christ declare the apostle John a liar and a heretic. No, they don’t openly declare it in that way, they simply declare a doctrine which opposes the good news that John has proclaimed in his letter to the church. Their false teaching not only opposes John, but it also opposes the testimony given by the author and finisher of the Christian faith which John bears firsthand testimony of, the Word of GOD, the Christ.

31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” 33 They answered Him, “We are Abraham’s descendants, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How can You say, ‘You will be made free’?” 34 Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. 35 And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. 36 Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed. (John 8:31-36)

YEHOSHUA is clearly declaring that if a man will believe in the truth of His word, then He will be freed from the enslavement of sin, therefore free to live righteously. This truth is affirmed in letters by the other disciples, as well as the apostle Paul in many of his letters. The doctrine that we will continue in sin after rebirth in Christ is a devilish lie rooted deeply in the hearts of those who are not willing to suffer for righteousness’s sake. This lie has become a stronghold of delusion for those who want to believe they have been accepted into the Kingdom of GOD while not fearing Him as Lord and King and not submitting to His rule in their lives.

For many years I have had confessing Christians contending with the spirit of Christ in me as I have borne witness to the glorious salvation of Christ in agreement with holy scripture. Here is the prophecy of the prophet Isaiah, which Christ read in a synagogue and then testified it was being fulfilled in Him presently.

1The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me,
Because the Lord has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord,
And the day of vengeance of our God;
To comfort all who mourn,
To console those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That they may be called trees of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.” (Isaiah 61:1-3)

When those following Christ stop at being forgiven, but don’t press on through the mortification of the flesh to the life of Christ, they remain sinners with a form of godliness while denying the power of resurrection life. This time of salvation which the prophet Isaiah spoke of is the present day we are now in. The power of Satan has been broken by the precious blood of the Lamb of GOD, and by the light of His glorious appearing. Let the promise of this glorious time inspire you to endure the birthing pains of passing from the flesh to the spirit and from the enslavement of sin to the liberty of righteousness. The letter written to the Hebrews says it this way:

1 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls. You have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin.” (Hebrews 12:1-3)

Receive in your heart the word of truth, which is the seed of transformation unto becoming the planting of GOD and a tree of righteousness. Now is the time to escape the delusion of the eternal fall and be raised by the resurrection life of Christ to walk in holiness and righteousness even as He is. The apostle James says it well in his letter to the church. I’ll conclude this with his words.

16 Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. 17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. 18 Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures. 19 So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; 20 for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God. 21 Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. 22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; 24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. 25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.” (James 1:16-25)
