In the last couple of weeks, I have written quite a bit about the full meaning of Christ’s resurrection because as He stated, “You will know the truth and the truth will make you free. I understand the modus operandi of Satan, which is to keep people bound by obscuring truth with the darkness of lies in the form of half-truths and you know a half-truth is still a lie. Christ did not come only to be a sacrifice for sins, but He came also to bring us new life in abundance. If Satan can oppress the truth regarding the life Christ has made available TODAY, then he can rob the world of the true glory of Christ’s resurrection, a new generation of the children of GOD, walking in His image because they are filled with His life.
“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10)
Are you experiencing newness of life today? I’m not talking about temporal things like money or status. I am talking about the life of Christ, His holiness, His righteousness, His peace, His patience, His compassion, His truthfulness, His faithfulness, His authority, His relationship with the Father. These are some of the true and eternal blessings He hoped we would receive as a result of His sacrifice. These are the things we need to exercise faith for. There have been many unbelievers that have worked hard and obtained worldly riches and status, but the life of Christ is for those who are ready to answer that call in their heart for true communion with GOD at any expense, because they have an expectation that in the Creator are things much more wonderful than the temporary things in this world or what He has created.
We join ourselves with Christ through the death of the cross. That is where we surrender our horizontal for His vertical. The sensual pleasures of this current world cannot fully satisfy your soul, and the vacillating, up and down, in and out acceptance, which people often offer is not substantive enough to stabilize your soul. Your soul needs the manna and living waters from heaven to be full, and the faithful love of GOD to be anchored. Turn all your affections vertical today to the things which are of GOD. Join Christ through surrendering your life in assurance that the Father will raise you in newness of life. Living like Christ comes through the power of the Spirit given by GOD. All you have to do is daily pray earnestly as Christ did saying, “Father not my will but yours be done.” Christ has afforded us all the grace and mercy we need to learn what that looks like for us, in accordance with truth. Just know that our Heavenly Father is a rewarder of those that seek Him diligently. Ask the Father to fill your soul with all the blessings of Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit and be resolute in pursuing the vertical over the horizontal, the spiritual over the carnal, the eternal over the temporal. GOD is faithful to deliver all those who call upon Him in humility and sincerity.
“The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:” (2 Peter 2:9)
