Trust Is the Stamina of Love

The rarest and most precious element in the world is and has always been trust. When Satan stole trust in the garden of Eden, he knew that he had made it nearly impossible for mankind to have fruitful and fulfilling relationships. The world instantly became a poorer place. Healthy relationships are what facilitate the necessities of life. Trust is the key preservative of healthy relationships. Trust is the most resilient and stable element in this world. Trust is what gives true love its stamina. Trust is what anchors your footing when the earth is shaken. Trust is what keeps your head above the waves when the ocean batters you about. Trust is a firewall against the fiery accusations of Satan which he propels at us to destroy relationships.

Trust is what motivates us to believe the best and to scour the smoke for the good when fiery accusations come. The world has been ablaze with distrust for so long that people have been conditioned to believe the worst first without any real effort to disqualify the accusation. Love without trust is a cheap imitation. It is like particle board in place of a real wooden plank, like love that was once whole but now has been fractured into many pieces and glued together again with cautious optimism. As soon as pressure hits, this imitation love gives way because there is no true oneness within.

Nothing can come between real love. There are assurances that the love of GOD gives that nothing else can give because He alone is self-existent. He brings His will to bear on all things, but He is subject to nothing. So, when we have love based on His will then we can have full assurance for what is hoped for. The bible teaches that there is no fear in real love.

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails…. (1 Corinthians 13:4-8 NKJV)

Marriage is supposed to be a merging together to make one but, in most cases, today it is just a bonding together. Marriages today mostly reflect the characteristics of particle board. The judicial system can bond you together by law, and the clergy can bond you together by vows, but only GOD can make you one in truth through transformation. Herein is the true glory of the unity formed by GOD, what GOD joins together becomes one. By the fire of His Spirit, He burns everything that is false away and then He merges together that which is true to make one. As we abide in the truth by abandoning the false, GOD is able to merge us together as one. When we hold on to the false, whether intentional or not, it impedes our progress towards unity.

Most friendships are based on similarities not true unity. Similarities makes us uniformed but not actually united. Groups of people become uniformed all the time yet remain disunited, look at athletic teams, military servicemen, and some business employees. If we will be one in fruitful and fulfilling relationships, then we will have to stop being so confident in our own feelings and imaginations which come from worldly orientations. This is what it means to die to our former selves that we might put on the new man created after GOD. This self-denial makes way for the rebirth which comes from being born of the truth of GOD. All who are born of His truth can be made one in love. Everything else will give way to the pressure of fears and lies generated by Satan.

1 I beseechyou therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. (Romans 12:1-2 NKJV)
