In simplicity, offering explanations to expose the errors in the chief tenets Calvinism.
Total Depravity
Resurrection in Christ destroys any depravity because the scripture says, GOD have given us all things that pertain unto life and godliness through the knowledge of Him. It doesn’t say that GOD will, as in when you get to heaven but “have” as in you can have these things now if you will believe it and receive it.
Unconditional Election
The scripture is plain that GOD would have “ALL” men to be saved, however some men love darkness more than light, so they choose to ignore truth and remain in darkness. Hell was originally created for the angels not men, however some men of their own choosing love the pleasures of sin more than righteous communion with GOD.
Limited or Definite Atonement
The sheer number of times the bible records a call to “ALL” men to repent and to salvation alone is enough to debunk this doctrine. The fact that some men choose to reject salvation has nothing to do with the effectiveness of the Lamb of GOD nor the perfect love shown by GOD through out history. Since Calvinism denies free will, this doctrine makes GOD responsible for preselecting the people who would receive eternal damnation. This doctrine also sentences those who demonstrate a love for sin to end up stuck in a sinless heaven, whether they want to be saved or not.
Irresistible Grace
This doctrine is tied to the other Calvinist beliefs. When you are committed to a certain path of thought, all things have to conform to it or else you end up contradicting yourself. Since salvation comes to us through grace and according to Calvinism only the “unconditional elected” through the “limited atonement” will be saved, then those who are elected to be saved have no choice but to eventually accept the grace of GOD, making it irresistible to them.
Perseverance of the Saints
This doctrine is an open contradiction from the name itself. Perseverance means continued effort; however the basis of the Calvinist doctrine is that those saved have been preselected and their efforts have nothing to do with it.
Conclusion
The Calvinist doctrine is a trap for all those unwilling to suffer for righteousness as Christ did. It is for those who reject the idea that GOD would put the promised land on the other side of a harsh dessert to prove those who truly desire to be His people. The promise of salvation is not just forgiveness from sin but the power to overcome sin through a divine nature of love, imparted by the Holy Spirit who makes the seed of the Word life to all who receive it by faith in GOD. If you declare that Christ is your Lord, but you choose to disobey His word, it isn’t because He has deprived you of anything, it is because your treasure is still in the sin and not in the promise of GOD. It is because you love pleasure more than GOD. Christ has said, “They that love me keep my commandments.” GOD can save you, but there is a cost. You must cross the dessert of fleshly affliction. Put your flesh on the fiery altar of the cross and GOD will resurrect a new man in His image. Surrender to the fire of the Spirit by grace or face the fire of damnation with those who refuse to accept GOD’s terms.
I am not going to list a bunch of scriptures to support what I have written here because unless the Lord is drawing you unto Him and you are willing to surrender, it will not make a difference. Truth has been shared and those ready to hear it have heard it. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge. That means those who are ready to reverence GOD as GOD and surrender to truth at the cost of forsaking the pleasures and comforts of false doctrines and lies will come to know truth. Straight is the gate and narrow is the way which leads to eternal life and few there be who find it. Few choose to suffer through self-denial to make room for the will of GOD. Read the book of Matthew chapter 25 and you will read the words of Christ as He stated that GOD the Father prepared the Kingdom of heaven for all of His children however some of His children have chosen to live wickedly so they will forsake their inheritance and instead go to a place known as hell which He prepared for the devil and the fallen angels. The prophet Isaiah, in the book of Isaiah chapter 5, speaks about hell having to open wider to receive the disobedient children. You do have a choice. Choose to take up your cross of self denial and follow the Savior, Christ the Lord.
