I have had to remove myself from fellowship with two ministries in the last 3 years due to their insistence on keeping false doctrines. It is the compromise of these two foundational principles which often leads to the corruption of ministries by false doctrines.
1) The fear of the Lord
2) Taking up the cross in self-denial
Without being faithful to those two foundational principles of GOD, it is impossible to know Him. Any deviation from those two principles perverts the belief into a gospel other than the gospel of Christ. Here is what Christ Himself taught on these two foundational truths of His Kingdom.
1) The fear of the Lord
Matthew 10:27-28
27 What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops. 28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
Biblical Context:
Christ the Savior is preparing His disciples for what is ahead, so that they will not lose heart but remain on the straight and narrow path unto life. Christ knows that they will face great adversity, and He is sharing the cost of the prize with them in truth and transparency. The key principle the Good Shepherd is giving His sheep is that only Elohim can save your soul and give you life, so if you are going to dread or fear anything let it be the consequences of opposing or angering Him. The uncompromising life of Christ as a man in the flesh was set forth as an example for us to follow, which is a great segue to the next foundational truth and why it is so important.
2) Taking up your cross to follow Christ
23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. 24 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. 25 For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away? (Luke 9:23-25)
Biblical Context:
YAHWEH is spirit, and His ways are spiritual which transcends the ways of the flesh and this carnal world, so the only way to know Him and follow Him is to be spiritual as He is. This aligns with Christ teaching that you cannot abide in the rule or standards of GOD, in other words enter the Kingdom of GOD, unless you are born again of His Spirit. You can’t be born again after the Spirit of GOD without surrendering your carnal life on the cross of self-denial. Taking up your cross daily in obedience to the Word of GOD facilitates the resurrection of the life of Christ in you. Christ taught that the Father is seeking true worshippers who will worship Him in spirit and in truth. If you remain worldly and carnal, you will remain alien to the spiritual ways of the Father. Your mind has to be renewed after the Spirit, or you will not be able to grasp or understand His ways. This is explained thoroughly in the book of Romans.
The Savior asked, “What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world yet loses his soul?” Christ knew there would be pressure to compromise the gospel, so He put it in perspective for us. Always put your loyalty to GOD first, because only He alone can save your eternal soul.
