At the root of all the false doctrines in congregations of those who confess they follow Christ is double mindedness. Double mindedness is devotion to GOD adulterated with a love for the things of this world. Particularly, carnal riches and the vain glory of man. People associate charisma with anointing, but they are not the same. People associate popularity with doing something right, but one doesn’t equate to the other. If you are influenced by the standards of this world and also the standards of GOD, then you are double minded. To truly follow Christ, you must deny yourself and live by His standards alone or He is not truly your ruler and King. Following Christ begins after the cross experience of surrendering your life to find the life that is in Him. Truth in scripture is hidden from impure hearts.
