Death by truth, or living a lie…What will you choose?

Rebellion against GOD and truth is as the sin of witchcraft because in rebelling from the truth there is a will to craft a different reality based on the pride of self. That act is to say, you want to be your own god or creator. 1 Samuel 15:23 says, “For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry…” To reject truth is to say you want your own reality, and that reality is a very very dark place. Christ taught that if you value darkness thinking of it as light, then that darkness is great darkness Matthew 6:22-23. The creation of the golden calf by the Israelites at the base of Mount Sinai was the crafting of a lie to create a new dark reality. The forming of a lie is the crafting of idolatry. He that is willing to lay down his life for truth will find real life, but he that seeks to live in his own truth will lose true life. Real life and fulfillment are only experienced in the light of truth.

The revelation of the love and grace of GOD through Christ the savior must serve as enough assurance to drop all fig leaves, that is to say attempts to cover our own nakedness and shame. If we live for our own glory, then we will be tempted to hide behind lies and false narratives. The danger of hiding in darkness is that you can lose your way. GOD admonishes us to seek Him while He can be found. Never take for granted that you will have another chance to accept His invitation to live in the light of truth.

3 For the time will come when people will not tolerate sound doctrine and accurate instruction [that challenges them with God’s truth]; but wanting to have their ears tickled [with something pleasing], they will accumulate for themselves [many] teachers [one after another, chosen] to satisfy their own desires and to support the errors they hold, 4 and will turn their ears away from the truth and will wander off into myths and man-made fictions [and will accept the unacceptable]. (2 Timothy 4:3-4 Amp)

In this age of information, disinformation, and misinformation, we need to embrace the truth in humility whenever we are graced with it. Our very lives are at stake.

7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Choosing between death by truth, or living a lie, may seem like a no-win proposition but within truth is the seed of life. When received, truth will destroy the false, but it buds true life. Living a lie is the deception of being alive while abiding in death. Christ the Savior came to establish us in the ways of light and life, but we must take up our cross and die to the old ways of darkness and death.

  1. We’re in the time where people are speaking “their truth”, and not THE truth. The truth is always a trigger, sensitive topic for people and facing a reality that does not serve them the way they believe it will leave them in that false reality created by Satan.

    1. You brought out a great point and the problem is that people think they have options that are non-existent. There is only one option for life and that is obedience to the Creator’s truth. Yes, we have been given options by GOD but truly understanding what those options involve is crucial.

19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
20 That thou mayest love the Lord thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days:…..Deuteronomy 30:19-20
