The Record of GOD Endures for All Generations

There are many fishers of men but there are few that gather with Christ. When recruiting disciples, Christ told men that if they would follow Him, then He would make them fishers of men. Our focus should not be on the fishing but the following of Christ. He has already said if He is lifted up, then He will do the drawing unto Him. There are many fishers of men which draw men unto themselves by lifting up their own thoughts and ideas and even appealing unto the appetites of the masses. Many vainly seek glory and validation in there works as if GOD accepts sacrifices approved by men. The prophet Samuel said, “to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.” Caine was rejected because he gave offerings that he thought should be acceptable rather than being obedient to the commands of GOD. I caution everyone with the word of GOD Himself,

“How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?” (John 5:44 KJV)

These are the words of the Messiah to everyone. It is not the standards of your family, your friends, your associations, or your country that approve you before GOD. It is His standards alone. Many people glory and find validation in the approval and commendation of men, but GOD alone chooses the priest that serve in His house.

²⁸ Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

²⁹ For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. ³⁰ Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them. ³¹ Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears. (Acts 20:28-31 KJV)

The Apostle Paul warned the people that men from their midst, having heard the same presentation of the gospel of Christ, would rise up and speak perverse things fishing men unto themselves. The same is still happening today. I was told recently by a brother that the time of the Apostle Paul and his sayings have passed, yet I see the things he taught through inspiration of the holy spirit, happening right before my eyes.  

Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord pondereth the hearts.

– Proverbs 21:2

There are many devices in a man’s heart; nevertheless the counsel of the Lord, that shall stand.

– Proverbs 19:21

The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.

– Proverbs 12:15

The counsel of the Lord standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.

– Psalm 33:11
