51 Now it came to pass, when the time had come for Him to be received up, that He steadfastly set His face to go to Jerusalem, 52 and sent messengers before His face. And as they went, they entered a village of the Samaritans, to prepare for Him. 53 But they did not receive Him, because His face was set for the journey to Jerusalem. 54 And when His disciples James and John saw this, they said, “Lord, do You want us to command fire to come down from heaven and consume them, just as Elijah did?” 55 But He turned and rebuked them, and said, “You do not know what manner of spirit you are of. 56 For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men’s lives but to save them.” And they went to another village. (Luke 9:51-56 NKJV)
Christ is clear that His mission is not to destroy men’s lives but to save them. To be clear, when Christ refers to saving men’s lives, He is talking about people of every tribe and tongue and people and nation upon earth (see Revelations 5). Today, in the face of this revealed truth, after the shed blood of the Lamb of GOD for ALL people, how does people who profess to follow Christ condone the decimation of tens of thousand of people through violence. It is clear why those who do not have the faith of Christ do and support such things, because they still have stony and callous hearts being ruled by selfishness and hate, but even the filthy ethics of prodigal men condemn collective punishment as a war crime.
43 “For a good tree does not bear bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. 44 For every tree is known by its own fruit. For men do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they gather grapes from a bramble bush.” (Luke 6:43-44 NKJV)
So, why does so many people in the West still refer to the US as a nation founded on the principles of Christ when its history is filled with the death and destruction of millions of people motivated by the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eye, and the pride of life? Christ gives the answer.
42 Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of Myself, but He sent Me. 43 Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word. 44 You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. 45 But because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me.” (John 8:42-45 NKJV)
America has been a murderer from the beginning, starting with the indigenous people, then the transatlantic slave trade, through to today being the top merchant of death through profiting from war via the sell of weapons of destruction. Those born of GOD see it and acknowledge it, but those that love money and pleasure see it and seek cover in the darkness of deceit. However, Christ has come as a light into this world and there is no where to hide from the judgment that is to come upon all the unrighteousness of those who reject His commandments to love GOD with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength, as well as to love your neighbor as your own self. Accept the verdicts of GOD, repent, and fall upon the Cornerstone of Christ for salvation.
42 Jesus saith unto them, “Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes? 43 Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof. 44 And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.” (Matthew 21:42-44 KJV)
Who have you chosen? Barabbas or Christ. The way of hate and vengeance or the way of love and life.
