Satan has been effectively nullifying religion as a relevant social construct in modern times. I say this because it is not uncommon to hear people being referred to as “religious” in a derogatory context, implying that being religious is bad. This is a case where something has been misused in the world and instead of fixing it, it is being thrown out. It is a similar strategy as counter-protesters who infiltrate a peaceful demonstration and then start setting fire to businesses to have protest demonstrations rejected by society. In the church, GOD has said let the hypocrites and rebels grow with the devoted and faithful until the harvest. This is the meaning behind the parable Christ taught regarding the man which sowed good seed in his field however tares were found growing among his plants. The tares or weeds came from an enemy trying to spoil his harvest by mingling in bad seed. You can read the parable in Matthew 13:24-30. The owner of the vineyard, symbolic of Christ, told the vineyard keepers to leave the weeds until the harvest to avoid damaging the good plants while removing the weeds. In churches, you will find many good plants, but you will also find the devil’s seedlings. Christ has given us counsel to leave them and let Him sort them out in the end.
If you or someone you know have seen people affiliated with Christianity doing evil things, please don’t discredit the Christian religion on the account of imposters who have infiltrated. That is what Satan wants you to do. This scheme of Satan is at the root of the division we see in much of Christianity today. This evil scheme is why religion has become a derogatory reference among believers as well as non-believers. However, instead of abandoning religion as a viable social construct, the body of Christ needs to retake the narrative of the conversation and redeem religion. To be clear, I am not talking about redeeming false religions or cults.
There are cults which have appropriated the names “Christian” and “Church”. The cults are actually anti-Christ organizations. Any organization teaching doctrines that require more or less for salvation than faith in Christ evidenced by a lifestyle which fulfills the two great commandments of Christ is an injurious cult. It doesn’t matter how nice the people seem or what good they do in the community, if they err from the truth as put forth in the gospel of Christ, they are devilish. Why…because the gospel of Christ is the power of GOD unto Salvation to all who believe. Perverting the gospel of Christ is the devil’s attempt to keep people in bondage. I know people who will not read a bible or step foot into a church because of this active perverting of religion I have been writing about and it is an unfortunate consequence, but the way to remedy this is not by abandoning all religion. Just reprove the false religion.
26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.
27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. (James 4:26-27 KJV)
This excerpt from the bible is not meant to be a comprehensive example of true religion, but it offers an example of how people can have useless religion and gives an example of what true religion looks like. We need to allow our zeal for Christ and our liberty of the spirit to free us to lift up a standard just as James did in that verse of scripture, and also as Christ did in His zeal for the Father when He cleansed His Father’s house (John 2:13-17). The spirit of GOD is compelling us to walk in true religion, not abandon religion all together. True religion is the place of sanctification where our devotion to GOD causes us to dwell unspotted from the world, unified in holiness and righteousness by the spirit of GOD. Eliminating religion all together is the plan of Satan in hopes of removing any unified standards of righteousness thus making a path for darkness to consume society. I don’t think anyone reasonable would argue that the times are not dark today. When all those who love GOD promote His standards both in word and in deed, this harmony of the spirit will result in an institution of light and love being gloriously erected in society. This manifestation of the spirit of Christ is the Church, the institution of true religion. The preparation of the true bride of Christ is happening and it is a call to holy boldness and to love and to sanctification and to accountability and to truth. The harvest is upon us, the lines are being drawn, and the bundles are being gathered. Make sure you are awake and watching.
